Discuss the problems that the main character faces within your book. What do those problems look like? Is it an external problem, internal problem, or both? What causes the problem? How is the problem being solved...or is it not? Are other characters apart of the problem? Is this problem getting worse or better as you read?
Please explain yourself as if I have not read the book in no less than EIGHT sentences.
In this book, the main character (so far) is struggling with the fact that he feels he is not in control of his life. He has no friends that really understand him and he feels alone. This is an internal problem because he struggles with it internally and doesn't really talk about it out loud. It begins to be solved when he meets Dante. He's making his problem better by just being his friend and being there. As I read it does progressively get better and better.

DeleteAri struggles with feeling alone all the time. He always seems to be alone because no one wants to talk to him and his parents aren't much help. Then comes along Dante. Dante and Ari first meet by Dante offering to teach Ari how to swim. This issue is internal because he struggles with his own self. The problem is being solved by Dante being Ari's friend. Dante is involved in this problem more than he knows. Dante is helping Ari's loneliness.
